The new owner/operators of the Costa Rica Motel in South West Rocks were handed the keys yesterday and have hit the ground running, preparing themselves for the busy summer season.

Combined, new owners Tiffany and Bishal Pandey and Lisa and Geoff Harvey, have more than 40 years’ experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. Their previous business was an award winning one, awarded accolades at a local, state and national level.

“We spent 13 years running our own caravan park. The best part was meeting up with all of our wonderful guests when they came back year after year. I’m looking forward to starting this next chapter,” owner Geoff Harvey said.

“We are also looking forward to being a part of the local business community and working with others promoting what South West Rocks has to offer. We already have a restaurant onsite and Fish Rock Dive Centre is based here too, so we’re off to a great start,” Mr Harvey added.

The Costa Rica Motel will be a family run affair. Tiffany is Geoff and Lisa’s daughter and with her husband, Bishal, will live onsite and run the motel. Both come from the tourism and hospitality industry, having worked for well-respected and well-known companies throughout the east coast of Australia including Meriton Suites, Starwood and Hamilton Island Enterprises.

“We are very excited to be here in South West Rocks, it’s such a beautiful place. There is a lot of work to do building up the business, but we are definitely up for the challenge. Christmas is going to be a busy time and we are working hard right now so that we’ll be ready,” Ms Pandey said.

“The most important thing for us is that our guests have a wonderful stay with us and when they go home they tell their family and friends about South West Rocks and about the Costa Rica Motel,” Ms Pandey added.

The family is planning a few changes for the Costa Rica Motel over the coming months starting with the rooms themselves, a new website to make booking online easier and a brand-new logo.
